The Odds
Prediction Scenarios and Approximate Odds
Members can take part in eight different prediction scenarios, each with its unique focus and odds of winning. Here's a breakdown of each prediction:

G1 - U.S. Gas Price Prediction:
[ UK: 10/1 - Europe: 11 - American 1000 - Winning Chances = 9.1% ]
Predict the price of regular gas in a specific U.S. state at a future date. Name the state.
Approximate Odds: 1 in 10, as this scenario allows flexibility in judging gas price ranges, but precise knowledge of pricing trends can give you an edge. Pinpointing the state is an added factor.

G2 - State Gas Price Spread: es across the U.S.
[ UK: 8/1 - Europe: 9 - American 800 - Winning Chances = 11.1% ]
Approximate Odds: 1 in 8, since identifying broad trends between state prices narrows down the range, giving users a better, stronger shot.

PP1 - UK Unleaded 91 Gas Price Average:
[ UK: 11/1 - Europe: 12 - American 1100 - Winning Chances = 8.3% ]
Predict the average price of Unleaded 91 petrol (gasoline) across 10 major UK suppliers.
Approximate Odds: 1 in 11, requiring familiarity with UK petrol suppliers and gas trends to get close to the average price.

PP2 - Australian Unleaded 91 Gas Price Average:
[ UK: 8/1 - Europe: 10 - American 900 - Winning Chances = 10.0% ]
Estimate the average price of Unleaded 91 gasoline across 8 Australian cities.
Approximate Odds: 1 in 9, since participants have a solid range but will benefit from insights into Australian city pricing differences.

FP1 - Football Draw Prediction (Premier and Championship Leagues):
[ UK: 15/2 - Europe: 8.5 - American 750 - Winning Chances = 11.8% ]
Choose between predicting 2, 4, or 6 draws from football matches in these leagues. FP1 uses the best picks out of multiple picks which makes getting an accurate prediction more likely.
Approximate Odds: 1 in 7½, with better odds here because having both nil-score draws and equal-score draws double chances of picking a draw and a draw prediction has a smaller range.

FC1 - North American Flight Cancellations (10 Airports):
Predict the number of flight cancellations from 10 major airports in North
America.
[ UK: 17/2 - Europe: 9.5 - American 850 - Winning Chances = 10.5% ]
Approximate Odds: 1 in 8½, given the unpredictability of flight patterns, though informed insights into seasonal trends can help. Odds are effected due to the fact that you only have to pick only one airport to gain a winner cash prize.

FC2 - North American Flight Cancellations (10 Airports):
[ UK: 6/1 - Europe: 7 - American 600 - Winning Chances = 14.3% ]
Similar to FC1, focusing on the count of cancellations across these airports.
Approximate Odds: 1 in 6, with participants needing awareness of broader trends in cancellations to narrow down accurate estimates. Odds are even better that with FC1 as there would be more flight cancellations with a specific airport compared to a specific airline.

SJ1 - Humidity Levels in 4 Cities:
[ UK: 5/1 - Europe: 6 - American 500 - Winning Chances = 16.7% ]
Guess the relative humidity across four different cities (locations change weekly).
Approximate Odds: 1 in 5, making this prediction is a much easier calculation due to the limited variable range (humidity historic and seasonal averages) and the static range of humidity levels.
This setup allows members to weigh different prediction scenarios and select the ones they feel most confident about based on familiarity or strategic insights.

Members’ participation contributes to Money Pools, which are used to distribute payments based on specific rules and tiers.

Participation Money Pool (80%) – For all members who submit valid predictions.

Engaged Money Pool (10%) – For members who actively engage in discussions or meet other criteria.

Elite Money Pool (7%) – Reserved for top-performing members with consistently accurate predictions.

Inner Circle Fund (3%) – For exclusive benefits or bonuses, often tied to long-term participation or special contributions.
Payments are distributed proportionally based on a member’s contribution and success in meeting performance criteria.
Members benefit from both guaranteed participation payouts and potential bonuses for accuracy or engagement. The system is designed to encourage active involvement and reward both effort and skill.
