I walk about, chat to people, and ask them to read stuff on a laminated card. It'll only take 20 seconds I tell them.

About the recordings

We supply you with nearly 200 different sets of phrases. Each set has exactly ten phrases on it.
Random people are asked to read or just say in a natural voice; what is on the card.
Not fast, a common mistake it they read too fast, each set should take 20 to 30 seconds to complete.

No-one can be used twice. When the recordings are received they are analysed for sound content and a voice pattern created, this is very much like a fingerprint; no two are the same, ever.
​
It does not matter where you record. It can be in any part of the USA, UK, Canada; anywhere where natural English speaking peope live. For example it cannot be done in Spain, unless English speakers are located, of course.
​
Audio quality must be good. Many smartphones are excellent but there are some points to watch out for. Make sure the microphone is not covered by your phone cover. If it is the sound has to get through tough plastic and this will ruin the sound. Solution - remove the cover.
The microphone is often at the bottom of the phone. Always point the microphone at the person speaking. This helps with sound reception and avoid ambient noise.

To get trouble free recording use a handheld microphone without omnidirectional capabilities. You don't want surrounding or background noise.

About the payments
​
Payments are made as described on this website. They will be paid to the bank and account number you provide to us.
​
Payments are calculated each month based on received and acceptable recordings. Among other points, acceptable means that you must complete a sender's chit for every transmission you send to us. We can't be expected to hunt high and low to find out where these recordings came from. (It happens, trust us). We want to pay you promptly, please help us do that by being accurate when filling out the sender's chit, thanks for that.

Payments are made to the person on the sender's chit. If this person has not registered with us, no payment will be made. Registration is essential.
​
If you introduce someone to us, when they register with us they must put your name or nickname on their application form. If they do not we cannot pay you the 20% extra for finding them for us.
​
Introductions must be made at the onset of the project upon registration. You cannot ask to be back paid for someone you introduced but forgot to mention to us.
​
You can introduce someone in another country if you wish but the same conditions apply.
​
When making recordings which you send in for payment you must complete a 'Where Recorded' form. If you record a number of people in one location, one 'Where Recorded' form will be sufficient.

Do things well and we will have a good relationship, which is something we all want.
